The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has awarded the contract for infrastructure development at Dehri Haat near Indrapuri Barrage in Rohtas. The project, valued at ₹26.80 crore , will be executed by M/s Rama & Sons and is scheduled for completion within 18 months.
The tender was floated on March 17, 2025, with technical approval for the project granted on April 30, 2025, at an estimated cost of ₹27.51 crore.
A meeting of the technical bid evaluation committee was held on May 11, 2025, under the chairmanship of the Chief Engineer, BSTDC, to examine the bids received. Of the five bidders, only two—Dawn SMR Buildcon Pvt. Ltd. (Shastri Nagar, Patna) and Rama & Sons (Kidwaipuri, Patna)—were found technically responsive.
Three bidders were disqualified. Kaushlendra Kumar (Jehanabad) submitted an incomplete affidavit. M/s S.A.B. Construction (Rohtas) failed to disclose debarment in previous government contracts and omitted litigation history from the affidavit, violating bidding norms. Basant Kumar (Rohtas) also failed to disclose prior debarment by the Rural Works Department, leading to rejection.
After a detailed review, the committee declared the bids of Dawn SMR Buildcon Pvt. Ltd. and Rama & Sons as responsive and eligible. Among them, Rama & Sons was selected as the lowest evaluated bidder and awarded the contract.
The project aims to enhance public infrastructure and tourism facilities at Dehri Haat, contributing to the development of Rohtas as an attractive travel destination.
