Patna-based construction firm M/s Rama & Sons has been awarded the contract for the much-anticipated redevelopment of Kusheshwar Asthan, one of the most revered religious sites in Bihar’s Darbhanga district. The firm secured the project with a winning bid of ₹43.03 crore, edging out a competing bidder in a process overseen by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC).
The project, which carries an administrative approval of ₹44.03 crore, was tendered by BSTDC on February 21, 2025, through the e-tendering process. Two firms submitted bids before the submission deadline of May 26, 2025—Rama & Sons and Saraswati Engineering, both based in Patna.
Following a detailed review, the Technical Bid Evaluation Committee declared both firms technically responsive and recommended opening their financial bids. Upon final evaluation, Rama & Sons emerged as the lowest bidder.
The redevelopment work is scheduled to be completed within 24 months. The BOQ value of the project stands at approximately ₹40.92 crore, with the technical sanction matching this estimate at ₹44.00 crore.
The initiative aims to enhance the religious and cultural tourism potential of Kusheshwar Asthan, which holds deep spiritual significance in the Mithila region. With improved infrastructure and amenities, the site is expected to attract more pilgrims and visitors from across the state and beyond.
