The estimated cost of the project is ₹349.70 crore, including GST. The proposed terminal will cover an area of 30 acres, while the stakeholders’ accommodation site will span 4 acres. Both sites are located near the Ratu river and will require extensive land filling above the High Flood Level (HFL) to safeguard the infrastructure against flood risks.

The project timeline has been set at 36 months, with the first 6 months dedicated to design and approvals, followed by 30 months of construction. After completion, a 36-month defect liability and operation period will be observed, in addition to a further 24 months of comprehensive maintenance.

Once operational, the Bhittamore Land Port is expected to serve as a key gateway for cross-border trade and travel, strengthening economic cooperation between India and Nepal and contributing to regional development.
