AAI Receives 4 Bids for Apron and Taxiway Construction at Bihta New Civil Enclave

AAI has received four bids for building an apron for 10 aircraft and two link taxiways, with electrical works, at the New Civil Enclave in Bihta, Bihar.

The project, estimated at a cost of ₹74.81 crore, aims to boost the upcoming Bihta airport’s capacity to handle large aircraft and improve airside connectivity. The proposed apron will accommodate 10 narrow-body aircraft, and the link taxiways will ensure efficient aircraft movement between the runway and parking stands.

The four bidders for the project are:

  1. Bharat Constructions (India) Pvt. Ltd.
  2. Mackintosh Burn Limited
  3. M/s Juneja Construction Pvt. Ltd.
  4. NSC Projects Pvt. Ltd.
Technical Bids

The bidding process commenced with the publication of the tender on 27 June 2025, followed by document sales from 28 June to 30 July 2025. The bid submission window was open from 10 July to 30 July, with the technical bids opened on 5 August 2025 at 11:00 AM.

 Apron & 2 Link Taxiways at Bihta Civil Enclave, Patna

The work is scheduled to be completed within 450 days from the commencement date. The apron and taxiway project forms a crucial component of the ₹1,413 crore New Civil Enclave development at Bihta, approved earlier by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).

In a parallel development, JSC IA Vozrozhdenie has won the contract for the main construction works of the new civil enclave at Bihta airport at a cost of ₹452.68 crore. This larger contract covers the core infrastructure and terminal building, complementing the apron and taxiway works.
