BPC Infraprojects Pvt Ltd has secured the contract to construct the Buddhist Meditation and Experience Centre in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, a significant project aimed at strengthening tourism infrastructure in one of the world’s most important Buddhist destinations.
The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) had floated the tender for the project on June 23, 2025, with an estimated cost of ₹131.30 crore and a completion timeline of 24 months. Following the bidding process, BPC Infraprojects emerged as the successful contractor.
The project received administrative approval from the state cabinet on May 16, 2025. A total of ₹165.44 crore was sanctioned under the Ministry of Tourism’s Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0, which focuses on developing world-class tourism facilities across key destinations in India. The planned meditation and experience centre is expected to further enrich the spiritual and cultural experience of visitors to Bodh Gaya.
Once completed, the centre will add to Bodh Gaya’s growing prominence as a global hub for Buddhist learning, meditation, and heritage tourism. The project is anticipated to significantly boost both domestic and international tourist footfall in the region.
