The Delhi–Sitamarhi Amrit Bharat Express is a newly introduced train under Indian Railways’ prestigious Amrit Bharat initiative. Designed to enhance connectivity between the capital city of Delhi and Sitamarhi in Bihar.

The Delhi to Sitamarhi Amrit Bharat Express operates under train number 14048, and it departs from Delhi every Saturday at 14:00 hours. After leaving the national capital, it stops at Chipyana Buzurg at 15:00 and reaches Kanpur Central by 20:20, departing five minutes later at 20:25. The next halt is at Barabanki at 23:05, followed by Paniahwa at 06:05 the next morning (Sunday). Finally, it reaches Sitamarhi at 10:45 AM on Sunday.

On its return journey, the Sitamarhi to Delhi Amrit Bharat Express runs as train number 14047. It departs from Sitamarhi every Sunday at 22:15 and halts at Paniahwa at 03:30 on Monday, then at Barabanki at 10:50. The train reaches Kanpur Central at 13:50 and departs after a 5-minute halt at 13:55. The next stop is Chipyana Buzurg at 21:20, before the train concludes its journey at Delhi at 22:40 on Monday night.

In addition to the major halts mentioned above, this express train has multiple commercial stoppages across key towns and cities to accommodate regional passengers. These include Ghaziabad, Tundla, Kanpur, Lucknow, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Kaptanganj, Siswa Bazar, Bagaha, Narkatiaganj, Raxaul, and Bairgania. This extensive list of stops ensures that several important towns and business hubs of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are connected directly with the national capital.

The primary maintenance of the train is handled in Delhi with RBPC, ensuring operational reliability. Crew and technical support (CTS) is provided at Lucknow and Gorakhpur, both of which are major railway hubs in North India. The train is also serviced at watering stations located in Kanpur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Narkatiaganj, which maintain essential onboard services like water supply for passengers.

This train service is part of the broader Amrit Bharat Express initiative by Indian Railways, aimed at expanding rail connectivity and offering modern amenities to passengers across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The Delhi–Sitamarhi route has long been a high-demand corridor due to educational, employment, and familial ties between Bihar and the National Capital Region (NCR). This train bridges that gap with a weekly express service, benefiting students, professionals, and tourists alike.

By operating weekly from Delhi on Saturdays and returning from Sitamarhi on Sundays, this train is ideal for weekend or short-term travelers. The schedule is also well-suited for people looking to travel overnight and reach their destination by the next morning or midday.
