The Department of Art, Culture and Youth, Government of Bihar, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for landscaping and horticulture development at the Telhada Site Museum and its adjacent excavation area in Nalanda district. The initiative aims to enhance the visitor experience and preserve the historical character of the site.
Telhada is an important archaeological site known for its cultural, educational, and religious significance. To complement the ongoing preservation efforts, the department plans to transform the museum campus into a serene and eco-sensitive landscape.
Released on June 24, 2025, the RFP seeks an agency with expertise in horticulture and heritage-sensitive development. The selected agency will be responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining the landscape for an initial period of two years.
Scope of Work Includes:
Preparation of a detailed landscaping plan using local herbs, shrubs, and trees.
Daily maintenance of lawns, hedges, flower beds, and trees, including watering, weeding, pruning, and pest control.
Monthly beautification initiatives.
Deployment of at least 10 gardeners and 2 on-site supervisors in shifts.
Compliance with all statutory labor and safety norms.
The agency must supply its own tools and ensure proper staff conduct, discipline, and safety. Workers must be above 18 years of age, with uniforms and police-verified backgrounds.
