The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for consultancy services to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed widening of the Chhapra–Rewaghat–Muzaffarpur section of National Highway 722 (NH-722) into a 4-lane divided carriageway.
The proposed length of the highway section to be upgraded is approximately 73 kilometers. This stretch plays a critical role in linking key towns in north-central Bihar and sees significant vehicular movement, both passenger and freight.
The selected consultant will be responsible for carrying out all necessary surveys, investigations, and engineering studies required for the preparation of the DPR. This includes alignment planning, topographic and geotechnical surveys, traffic analysis, pavement and bridge design, cost estimation, and environmental and social impact assessments.
The project is part of NHAI’s broader effort to strengthen national highway infrastructure in Bihar to improve road safety, reduce congestion, and boost regional economic development.
