In a significant development aimed at accelerating Bihar’s industrial growth, UltraTech Cement Ltd., part of the Aditya Birla Group, is set to invest between ₹800 crore and ₹1,000 crore to establish a cement grinding unit in Banka district. The plant will be located in the newly developed industrial zone of Karjhounsa, under Katoria block.
A senior delegation from UltraTech Cement, including Executive President CA Mukesh Agrawal, Joint President (Finance & Commercial) Gagan Agrawal, and Ravi Dusad, Head of Mines, Land Acquisition, and Corporate Affairs, met with top officials of the Bihar Industries Department in Patna on Monday. The team formally submitted an Expression of Interest (EoI) for the project.
According to the company’s proposal, the unit will be set up on over 200 acres of land and will have an installed production capacity of 3.3 million tonnes per annum. The project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for over 500 individuals.
