The ambitious Extension of J.P. Ganga Path Project from Digha–Sherpur–Koilwar Road, aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity along the Ganga riverfront, has entered a crucial phase.

The ₹5,544.25 crore project (exclusive of GST), to be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), is targeted for completion in 1,460 days (about four years) with an additional 15 years of maintenance.

The tender, floated through Eproc2 , attracted participation from seven bidders, out of which two firms Vishwa Samudra Engineering Pvt. Ltd. and Adani Enterprises Limited emerged technically qualified to move into the next stage of evaluation.

The remaining five bidders were disqualified for not meeting eligibility criteria. Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Ltd. failed to submit audited reports for FY 2017–18 and FY 2018–19 and did not provide the required undertaking on project collapse history.

PNC Infratech Pvt. Ltd. in joint venture with SPS Construction India Pvt. Ltd. was found non-compliant in similar work criteria, technical capacity, and soil stabilisation requirements.

Gawar Construction Ltd. and G R Infraprojects Ltd. were disqualified for not meeting similar work and soil stabilisation criteria.

Ceigall India Ltd., in joint venture with Welspun Enterprises Ltd., was rejected due to an expired credit rating, non-compliance with collapse history, and failure to meet technical criteria.

With the technical evaluation complete, the process will now move to the financial stage between the two qualified bidders — Vishwa Samudra Engineering Pvt. Ltd. and Adani Enterprises Ltd.

The extension of the Ganga Path aims to strengthen Patna’s riverfront connectivity, ease urban traffic pressure, and provide a seamless high-capacity corridor up to Koilwar.
